My name is Thang 🌻, but I prefer to be called by my nickname, 'Mầm' (The Sprout). To me, this name symbolises my life: a small seedling that survives and thrives not only through its own striving to reach the light but also thanks to the nurturing environment of my family and community.

Born in a rural village in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, I inherited the hardworking nature of my people. However, my academic journey began with a significant disadvantage: I grew up in an environment where education was not a priority for children.

The turning point came in 12th grade when I met my adoptive father. As an accomplished IT Engineer, he reignited my academic ambition. Inspired by his success, I aspired to follow in his footsteps to contribute to society. I enrolled in Phuong Dong University, majoring in IT, but my true calling soon shifted towards Fundamental AI Research.

To pursue this dream, I had to overcome two massive hurdles: a significant gap in Mathematics and a language barrier. Undeterred, I immersed myself in advanced AI materials from world-class institutions like Stanford and MIT. The struggle to understand complex concepts in a foreign language taught me true grit and patience. My profiles on KNOWLEDGE and GitHub stand as living testaments to this extraordinary effort.

Developed and submitted solutions for the DSTC

September - September 2024

Participated in the DSTC Challenge by contributing a Data Science solution applied to retail store systems. I executed data cleaning and leveraged the dataset to uncover hidden insights within the sales industry, aiming to resolve critical operational inefficiencies (pain points). This marked my first hands-on experience with real-world business problems during my academic journey.
